Resourceful Parents. Resilient Children. Ready Families.

Programs for parents and caregivers to learn and practice effective strategies for raising healthy children.

The Clearinghouse for Military Family Readiness at Penn State, in partnership with the Department of Defense’s Office of Military Community and Family Policy, is developing the THRIVE Initiative to empower parents to be more engaged and more informed for their children from the prenatal period until their children reach 18 years of age.

The Initiative consists of four age-specific, skill-building programs: Take Root (0-3 years), Sprout (3-5 years), Grow (5-10 years), and Branch Out (10-18 years). These universal programs are provided to you at no cost.

The Initiative also contains supplemental modules that identify specific topics that may be beneficial to meet family goals. The intent of the supplemental modules is to build on information and strategies discussed in the four universal Thrive parenting programs – Take Root, Sprout, Grow, and Branch Out. Therefore, by participating in the age-appropriate Thrive parenting program before engaging with any of the supplemental modules, you will reap the most benefits.
